Dear Friends,
In this week’s Gospel passage, Jesus calls himself the Good Shepherd. He says:
“I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for the sheep.”
It is not the sheep that carry Jesus, but Jesus who carries and cares for the sheep! Jesus is the one who saves us, who makes us whole. We are his sheep!
We can never doubt God’s love for us for Jesus gave up all for each and every person.
The readings for this Sunday will be from Acts 4:5-12, 1 John 3:16-24, and John 10:11-18, and we will be singing the hymns Hail the Day that sees Him Rise; The Lord’s my shepherd; and The King of love my Shepherd is!
