Do angels walk amongst us? *

Dear Friends,

Maybe you’ve heard of Michaelmas, maybe you haven’t.  Perhaps you know the large daisy called the Michaelmas Daisy, or heard the Autumn term at Cambridge University and other elite institutions referred to as the Michaelmas Term.

Michaelmas is the old name for the Feast of St. Michael and All Angels, and was an important day in the mediaeval calendar, falling on 29th September, three-quarters of the way through the year when rents were due.

But who was the Archangel Michael?  Do we even believe in angels?  And what does it mean to us?  Find out more this Sunday at All Saints as we celebrate the feast!

The readings for this Sunday will be from Genesis 28.10–17, Revelation 12.7–12, and John 1.47–51, and we will be singing the hymns Praise My Soul the King of Heaven; The Lord’s my Shepherd; And now O Father; and And Can it Be!

Many congratulations Wim and Elsie!
