HARVEST THANKSGIVING
Meet at All Saints at 10 a.m. or YCF at 11 a.m.
Dear Friends,
Every year we drive out to the Youth Charity Foundation to celebrate our Harvest Thanksgiving, but for most of us the only harvesting we do is in the supermarket or at the restaurant salad bar.
The children of YCF are a little closer to the soil, and the above picture shows them working in the rice harvest in August.
In a land of plenty like Thailand, it is easy to take food for granted, yet our world still sees acute food shortages due to war such as those in Gaza and Sudan. As we give thanks, we must also remember those in need, and pray and work to make this world a safer place where all are fed and live in safety.
The readings for the Harvest Thanksgiving this Sunday will be from Deuteronomy 8:7-18, Philippians 1:21-30, and Matthew 20:1-16, and we will be singing the hymns Come, Ye Thankful People, Come; Bless the Lord oh my soul; We Plow the Fields and Scatter; and Days Of Elijah! The Choir will be singing Still and What a Wonderful World!
Use this link to join on Zoom on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

Harvest Festival – This Sunday!

We will again be holding out Harvest Festival at the Youth Charity Foundation’s House of Hope! The service will begin at 11 am, so we will meet at 10am at All Saints for those who can give or need a lift out to YCF.
Please bring food to share along with the food that YCF will also provide!
Click here for directions to YCF! YCF is near Doi Saket and about a 30 minute drive from Chiang Mai.
Rev. Deacon Christa Crawford will be leading worship at All Saints at the usual time of 10:30 a.m. for those who can’t join us at the Harvest Thanksgiving.
New QR Code – Use it Now!

The Church Council met three weeks ago and discussed ways to increase the giving at All Saints – and how to make it easier. Many people don’t carry cash or have the right change, so we have published a QR code on the bulletin to enable people to transfer directly into the church bank account.
You can scan with the banking app on your phone and specify the amount you would like to give.
The payment is into the church account which is in Father Iain’s name and is controlled by Arthur, our treasurer. Account transactions require the authorisation of two different church council members.
We will also suggest that people make a donation of THB 100 on Chili Night.
All Saints Book Group

The All Saints Book Group meets Tuesdays at 2:30 at Annah and Aneesh’s home to discuss Living Resistance by Kaitlin B. Curtice.
Please be in the lobby of The Nimmana before 2:30 so we can go upstairs all at once. Bring your suit if you want to swim or sauna afterwards. Bring your appetite if you want to carpool to Chili Night after that.
Sixty Years Celebration!

On Thursday 3rd October Elsie and Wim will celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary. They would like to invite all their church family at All Saints to celebrate with them.
You are invited to the Dinki Cakes shop café at J-Space on the 121 Road from 10 a.m. onwards for coffee etc. Those who wish to can stay for lunch.
Directions to Dinki Cakes can be found here.
Chili Night Continues!

Chili Night next Tuesday
Every Tuesday everyone in Chiang Mai is invited to Chili Night in the Vicarage. Chili con Carne, rice, chips, ice-cream, and drinks are provided. Just come along! (But let me know in advance if you can!) All are welcome. Food is served at 6 p.m.
Please make a donation on THB 100 per person!
Weekly Offering to All Saints
You can still donate in person or online – and now you can us our QR code!. Thank you for your support and love for All Saints and all we are trying to do together. God has shown that he is mighty and we are in his hands!
God bless you,
Father Iain
